Indigo Agriculture endeavors to improve grower profitability, consumer health and the environmental sustainability of commercial agriculture through the use of natural microbiology and digital technologies. In this talk, Nick will give a tour of some of the ways that Indigo leverages data science in their business, particularly within Indigo’s Grain Marketplace. From forecasting crop yields using satellite imagery to leveraging operations research to improve transportation efficiency, data science plays an important role in how Indigo runs its own business and in building products to help their customers increase their profitability and make more informed and confident decisions.
Nick Malizia is a Senior Director at Indigo, leading their Marketplace Data Science team. Prior to Indigo he served as the Head of Data Science at TellusLabs and was a Lead Data Scientist and founding team member of Boston Consulting Group’s data science consultancy, BCG Gamma. He holds a PhD in Geography from Arizona State University and BA and MA in Geography from Clark University.
