March 20, 2020

Full story at the Harvard Gazette.

Mark Lipsitch at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health uses analysis of rapidly changing epidemiological data to estimate the disease’s transmission rates.  He recently collaborated with colleagues at HMS to publish an article demonstrating that the coronavirus can spread across a range of temperatures and humidity levels.

This is the first post in a series highlighting how researchers across Harvard are using data science to tackle the novel coronavirus in an attempt to understand its transmission and slow its spread.  Featured work may represent initial results of early stage research that may not yet have undergone peer review.  This research is evolving quickly.  If you know of important work that you would like us to highlight, please email
