This post is for part-time a Research Assistant in Environmental Economics to work with professor Charles Taylor, an environmental economist at Harvard Kennedy School. The RA may assist on several projects including i) economic impacts of water pollution in the US, ii) long-term climate change, migration, and economic history, iii) climate change and technology adoption in the agriculture sector in developing countries, as well as other projects. Some of this work is joint with Xinming Du, a Harvard Salata Institute Fellow.
Duties:
– Clean data in various spatial formats, including satellite products in NetCDF and GeoTIFF format.
– Manage and analyze data (including econometric analysis).
– Conduct literature reviews and summaries.
– Assist in preparing material for publication in peer-reviewed economics journals.
Qualifications:
– Experience working with spatial data and/or gridded satellite products in NetCDF or GeoTIFF format.
– Proficiency in software used for data processing, regression analysis, visualization, and geospatial analysis (e.g., R, Stata, Python).
– Strong interest in economics research and environmental topics.
