Newly Funded: Gospel Music and the Marketplace

Led by Charrise Barron, this project builds the first comprehensive dataset and visualization suite tracing the theological, musical, and market trajectory of gospel music from the 1980s to the present. Using Billboard gospel and Christian charts alongside RIAA data, the team will compile chart histories, sales and streaming metrics, and thematic information for top songs and albums across four decades.
