Karun Rajesh is a graduate student at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health pursuing an M.S. in Health Data Science. He is passionate about leveraging community and individual level data to drive better health and opportunities throughout disadvantaged communities. Prior to his studies, Karun researched the microbiome, primarily on its correlation with preterm birth. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Accelerated Program with a bachelor’s and master’s in Bioinformatics. Karun will be working at Cambridge Health Alliance as a data scientist where he primarily will be applying data science to facilitate collaborative community health needs assessments, monitor health indicators of importance to the community, and evaluate outcomes of implementation strategies. He hopes that this opportunity will serve as a stepping stone into the public service space.
